What is AI governance and why does my organization need it?

AI governance is the set of policies, roles, controls and evidence that keep AI systems lawful, safe and accountable. reconn helps you design and run it, using ISO/IEC 42001 as the backbone of your AI management system.

Can reconn implement ISO/IEC 42001 for us, not just teach it?

Yes. reconn supports ISO/IEC 42001 implementation, from gap assessment through to certification readiness, and can train your team so they can run the AI management system themselves. Certification of your organization is issued by an accredited certification body.

Does ISO/IEC 42001 certification make us compliant with the EU AI Act?

No. ISO/IEC 42001 is not a harmonized standard under the EU AI Act, and certification does not confer legal compliance. It gives you a managed, auditable AI governance system that supports your work on regulatory requirements.

Which standards can reconn help us implement?

ISO/IEC 42001 for AI management, ISO/IEC 27001 for information security and ISO 22301 for business continuity. ISO/IEC 42001:2023 is the first international standard for an AI management system.

Are the PECB ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 27001 certifications accredited?

Yes. PECB became the first certification body to receive UKAS accreditation under ISO/IEC 17024:2012 for its ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer personnel certification schemes (18 August 2026). PECB's ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer and Lead Auditor certification schemes are accredited by UKAS (accreditation no. 21923).

Which PECB courses can I take live online?

ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 31000, ISA/IEC 62443 and CAIP are available as live online training, in addition to eLearning. Corporate batches can also run live online or in a classroom.

What training and support do I get with a PECB course?

Every self-study and eLearning enrollment includes a free 1-hour session with a PECB Certified Trainer and unlimited email and WhatsApp support until you clear the exam, within your 12-month enrollment window. reconn activates your PECB account the day you enroll.
